Giveaway!

So, I am doing my first giveaway and I am excited.  I have to admit that it is a bit selfish because I want some interaction with those that read my blog.  So, what am I offering for this companionship?  This book:

It is chock full of handy tips...just flipping through...for instance, did you know that baking soda could be used for reducing the acid on your teeth, making your feet smell good, helping a bug bites and stings, soothing diaper rash, soothing sunburns and sore throats, and fighting bad breath.  All of that for like 60 cents at the grocery store.  If you would like your chance at winning a copy of this encyclopedia of natural cures, here is how you enter:  Leave me a comment stating your favorite home remedy.  A winner will be chosen randomly and announced on Friday, April 15th.  So, get to thinking about those on the fly remedies that you have used when you were out of what you normally use or just something that is a constant stand-by.

  1. Heck yeah!!! This is so exciting!!! My favorite home remedy is using vinegar to clean. Not that I do, I just like the thought of being able to. Lol.

  2. I love vinegar as a cleaner! I love to use it in the microwave- you can heat up a bowl of vinegar until almost boiling and then when you go to wipe it down everything comes of easily! You can also use it as a laundry softener- that's what I used on all of Silas's newborn clothes.

  3. hot water, if I need to get a spot out, clean up a dog accident I just put some boiling water on it and let the steam do its thing. Also, if you have some baby stains put the clothes in a pot of boiling water, viola good as new! After I got my steam mop I went a little steam crazy!

  5. We have a phone in entry to this little giveaway. Diana (who had trouble posting) said that what her mom and now she does in case of a wasp sting is to make a paste with baking soda and water to place on the sting. She tried this on her little beauty and she said hours later you could barely even tell that she had been stung. She also shared a funny story about when she and her brothers were kids. Her little brother came in from outside crying and she asked what was wrong, he said he had been stung. She proceeded to make her moms baking soda paste and fix him all up. Well, her brother later admitted that their older brother had actually shot him with a BB gun. Hah.
